QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has said that development of tourism sector can play an important role in the economy of Balochistan. “Beautiful and unique coastal and mountainous sites of the province need to be introduced as the best tourist destinations in the world,” CM maintained.
He further added that a comprehensive policy has been prepared for the development of Ziarat Town. He expressed these views during the review meeting of Ziarat Valley Development Project. Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Rehman Bazdar was also present in the meeting. Master plan for development of tourist destinations and establishment of new centers was presented to CM.
It may be mentioned here that the federal government has allocated Rs 1 billion for the Ziarat development package while the provincial government has allocated Rs 250 million. The Chief Minister directed that Ziarat should be developed in line with vision of a smart city to attract the attention of tourists. The included projects should be finalized and approved by the federal government as soon as possible so that development funds can be released. He said that given the nature and importance of the projects, the federal government would be requested to increase the funds to Rs 2 billion.
