QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani connected with the divisional commissioners of Balochistan’s all seven divisions here on Thursday to review the status of efforts against Covid-19 at divisional level.
Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr. Rababa Buledi, Health Secretary Dosteen Jamaldini and in-charge Provincial Control and Operations Center Imran Gachki also attended the video link conference.
The conference reviewed the status of the Corona virus’ intensity and the implementation of the awareness programmes, distribution of rations under Ehsas Programme and measures to control locust at divisional and district level. Divisional commissioners also briefed CM on the said issues.
Decision was taken to make a coordinated system at District and Union Councils level for screening, tracking and tracing mechanisms of Corona virus and infected persons. Chief Minister directed that the Surveillance Committees headed by Assistant Commissioners at Sub-Divisional level should be made functional.
He also directed that implementation of SOPs for sitting in Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan and spraying of disinfectants in mosques must be ensured, addin that commissioners should make recommendations for preparation and implementation of SOPs for Eid prayers.
He directed IG Police that apart from maintaining law and order, the police should also extend full support to the district administration in matters related to the Covid-19.
The Commissioner should also be alert about dengue and malaria and take steps to prevent their spread, CM directed and added that according to the WHO, the effects of the corona virus can be prolonged and a long-term planning is needed to deal with it. All the Commissioners should prepare development plans according to the health needs in their division which will be included in the PSDP of the next financial year, CM directed.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners to spend CSR funds of their districts on health sector and make sure that smart lockdown is not violated.
He said that the use of masks should be ensured and the public should be made aware of the precautionary measures and added that the Deputy Commissioner should seek the assistance of large private companies and multinational companies by contacting them in fight against Covid-19.
