QUETTA: The renowned legal experts of Balochistan have challenged the notification of 10th National Finance Commission (NFC) in Balochistan High Court.
According to the details, former chairman Pakistan Bar Council Advocate Kamran Murtaza, Mir Attaullah Langov and other lawyers filed a petition against the constitution of 10th NFC Award, pointing technical shortcomings.
The petitioners held that the NFC was a constitutional forum and the nomination of an adviser in the body was unconstitutional, a reference made to Hafeez Sheikh, Prime Minister’s adviser on Finance. They also objected to the nomination of Javed Jabbar as technical member of the NFC nominated from Balochistan, adding that assigning a technical job to a writer was unconstitutional and was in clash with constitution.
They pleaded that the High Court may declare constitution of 10th NFC Award null and void. The Balochistan High Court issued notices to all the parties. The petition had nominated the finance ministers of all four provinces as party to the case.
Hearing on the petition would take place on 21st May.
