Javed Jabbar resigns aimed pressure from civil, political circles, decision hailed

QUETTA: Javed Jabbar, a non-official technical member of the NFC Award from Balochistan, voluntarily resigned the other day. Javed Jabbar was nominated by the Chief Minister of Balochistan as the unofficial member from Balochistan for the 10th NFC.

 Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said in his tweet that a non-official member of the 10th NFC Awards from Balochistan has resigned from his post.

 Jam Kamal further said that Javed Jabbar’s nomination was severely criticized by the political circles of Balochistan while his appointment was opposed by National Assembly member Muhammad Aslam Bhootani and Balochistan lawyers in the Balochistan High Court separately.  Constitutional petitions were filed.

On the other hand, National Assembly member Muhammad Aslam Bhootani said that as a result of public pressure, Javed Jabbar voluntarily withdrew from representing Balochistan in the NFC and made a good decision.

Senior Lawyers Kamran Murtaza, Mir Ataullah Langov, Khalil Panazai, Najam Mengal, Abdul Ghani Mengal, Abdul Malik Baloch, Hassan Kamran, Ajmal Mohi-ud-Din Sasoli, Ismatullah Panazai, Nadir Langov, Ishaq Notazai, Tariq Mohammad Shahi, Khalid Kubdani, Mir Naseer Bangulzai, Naseeruddin Kakar, Malik Aminullah  Others have said that Javed Jabbar has taken a good step by resigning from representing Balochistan in the NFC Awards. ‘In this regard, we will not withdraw the petition filed in the Balochistan High Court as this is not the solution to the deprivations of Balochistan,’ Kamran Murtaza told media and added that under Article 160 of the Constitution, the share of the province could not be reduced. He said that unconstitutional moves would be resisted which aim at taking with other hand what has been granted with one.
