QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan Mathar Niaz Rana chaired a high level meeting on implementation of Balochistan High Court decisions regarding provincial capital, here on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the strict implementation of various directives by the Balochistan High Court, including the beautification of Quetta city, expansion of roads and traffic issues.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that the Supreme Court has passed these orders for the benefit and welfare of the people and it is also the responsibility of the provincial government to expedite the completion process of projects of collective nature without any delay.
He urged that the traffic system should be improved in Quetta and added that those violating the building codes in the city should not only be dealt with strictly but also no construction should be allowed without prior approval and scrutiny of the concerned quarters.
He added that hospitals without parking will not be allowed in Quetta city while a committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Administrator Quetta and DG Health will be constituted to issue NOCs to private hospitals.
It may be recalled that the Balochistan High Court had issued orders under CP 2020-804 case for completion of various projects of public importance including beautification of provincial capital, violation of building code, implementation of building plan and excessive rush of traffic in the city.
Sub-committees were also formed on the occasion to implement these orders and each committee was directed to ensure implementation of the orders of the Apex Court. Another follow up meeting will be held three days later to review the implementation of the orders. PR
